Sock #2 Heel Turn!

I am in the home stretch!    Sock #2 should be completed by Wednesday night knitting group and  then I can start on a new pair.   I started on a new project as well, so now I have two going at the same time.  

Last night I had two of very best friends over for dinner, and I made slow cooked pork roast.   It was so freaking yummy and was the easiest recipe!   Got to love allrecipies.com.    Along with this yummy roast, I made roasted vegetables, and mom made some acorn squash.   Then we had chocolate chip cookies... baked from scratch right out of the toll house package!   ;-)

 

After dinner we watched the Oscars together, and I worked on the socks some more, and much to my surprise Louis wanted to learn how to knit!   So I pulled out some needles, and some scrap yarn and taught him how to knit.  Now he is a righty and Davey is a lefty here, so I had to stop and think how it would be best to teach him.  This was cool because it was good practice for when I have to lean how to knit with both hands at the Fair Isle class on Saturday.   Damn it felt good to teach someone how to knit!  I can't wait till Louis is making his own projects.  

Speaking of the Oscars last night, did you see Helen Mirrien?   DAMN she looked fierce!   (and her opening speech was awesome too.)  Helen is one of my all time favorite actresses and it was good to see her on.   What was up with Enchanted?   It was nominated for three out of the five songs and not one win!   WE WAS ROBBED!   But, Kristen Chenowith sang and that made me happy.   

 So how is everyone out there in knitting land?   

Off to the shower then to the Apple Store....  love to all... 

A Birthday Dinner Invitation

So its birthday time!   Join me and some friends on Saturday, March 8th at Mama Ricotta's on Kings Drive at 7pm for dinner and some fun!    After dinner we will head to Petra's for some piano bar singing and dancing.  :-)

What a week.

OK... slack ass here has not written since last week.   Sock #1 is done and looks good for my first attempt.  I will post the pics soon.   Now working on Sock #2.   This has been fun to learn.  

Two weeks from today, I turn 30.   Geezzzzz - hard to believe my gay ass has been around this long!  Should I celebrate?   

For those who do not know, I took over scheduling at the store and it has been one hell of a challenge.  But I am getting better at it.   If I can get a schedule done in two days it is good.   My goal.... get it done in a day.   Speaking of the store, sickness abodes at the store, so I am loading up on Airborne before I go in each day.   I so do not need to get sick. 

Went out with mom last night for V-Day.   We had a nice dinner and went to see Jumper.  It was a good movie, but they left it wide open for a sequel.   Hmmm....  that will be interesting.  

Love to my knitting friends, Cristi, Aimee, Corey, Heather, and all from BAM!  I missed you all this week and will definitely be staying longer next week.

Wow! So I know it has been a while since I have written an update. Here is my first heel turn for my first attempt at a pair of socks. Isn't it pretty! I am really pleased with this yarn and the striping effect it has.

I should be able to finish this one at lunch and move on to sock #2 tonight to complete the pair! WHO HOO!!!!
